DLF SmartHome launch: Report and pictures

On Friday 16 June, the Disabled Living Foundation launched a telecare flat within its equipment demonstration facility at its London HQ, 380 Harrow Road, W9 2HU. The launch was sponsored by Tunstall Group Ltd, CityWest Homes and City of Westminster Council which have all generously supported the development of the facility. Professor Heinz Wolff, Emeritus Professor of Bioengineering at Brunel University and well-known promoter of the widespread and sensible application of technology, gave the opening address.

Equipment on display in the SmartHome includes the MemoMinder from Bath Institute of Medical Engineering; a lamp by the Daylight Company that does not become hot; the EPM Magiplug for the bath; Frequency Precision pressure mat alarm; Wristcare, suppliers by NRS; Sensocare Stystems bed sensor; a range of products from SRS Technology and Tunstall; Keysafe, by Supra UK; videomonitoring by Viewpoint Connections.
