Blackberry-Vodafone to detect heart attacks (India)

According to Dr Pawan Kumar, Head of Telemedicine Department ay Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai who, with IT company Maestros, thought up the Blackberry-based device, “Heart attacks are the number two killer in the country. In 2006, we started the telemedicine department in Nanavati hospital (which is now the largest department of its kind in India), to start tele-ECG. However, that was not very accurate as it could not provide a detailed ECG, which is needed to pin point a heart-attack properly. The new solution, however, provides the complete diagram and what’s more can be emailed across on the phone in a matter of just five minutes.” More information.
