Aerotel and EcoTec launch new personal telecare service in Finland

Aerotel Medical Systems of Israel and EcoTec, a Finnish provider of personal safety and tracking services, have jointly launched a new personal telecare service in Finland. The service, based on Aerotel’s GeoSKeeper personal safety and location system, enables the accurate location of older people, children and lone workers. Press release.

  1. FDA not the only roadblocker here in US

    Great device, but won’t be here in the US anytime soon. We all know and love (!) FDA here–but a GPS device like this is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which is even slower, from what I understand, in its approvals. There is a very real debate going on about reassigning spectrum, but from what I’ve heard devices like this are put to the bottom of the pile.
