New York City-headquartered Tunstall AMAC announced that it is expanding its call center operations based in Rhode Island to an eventual 250 staff. They have also negotiated space in economically challenged Pawtucket, locating in an ‘economically distressed’ area of town and will be relocating its present nearby Cranston operation. The Cranston operation is listed under the MD OnCall medical answering service, but it could be an indicator of expansion in other monitoring areas. Rhode Island will also be providing job training and tax incentives for the move and expansion. Of note is that the article lists AMAC annual sales as of 2010 as $40 million and Tunstall at $300 million. New call center hopes to bring 250 jobs (Pawtucket Times)
Of additional interest is that with little fanfare, Tunstall AMAC now has a new management group headed by new CEO Bradley Waugh (former CEO of practice-payer communications software company NaviNet, acquired this past spring by HIT company Lumeris and two Blue Cross plans). Another indicator of Tunstall’s eventual plans for their US acquisition?
