In this otherwise excellent article on the Federally funded ‘Money Follows The Person’ program in 29 states in the US that helps to transition residents from nursing home or other long-term care (LTC) facilities to individual or small group homes, restoring independence and reducing millions in state Medicaid expenditures, there is not one mention of remote monitoring–telecare, telehealth or mobile health. Here, it seems, is an excellent market–if your company can get through the thicket of state agencies that regulate LTC and procedure applications. Moving from long-term care to home–where is the remote monitoring?
When I sent this article to Steve, I was keenly aware what was missing and I was surprised that a high tech publication like USA Today missed it…. I am waiting to see if the telecare/telehealth companies pick up on this?
