400 million wireless sensors by 2014

The distribution of wearable, biometric, ‘peel and stick’ wireless sensors, a key part in enabling mHealth, is projected to reach 400 million by 2014 according to ABI Research. This Mobihealthnews report also includes Clint McClellan’s (Qualcomm) remarks at the Foundation for the National Institutes for Health (NIH) mHealth Summit last week in Washington, D.C. and an overview of companies developing these sensors–Philometron, NeuroVigil and Proteus Biomedical (earlier Telecare Aware news item here).
