Bria, MD, CMIO for Shriners Hospitals for Children in Tampa, Fla., believes that elements such as immediate information + connectivity + staff expectations for better time management + changing patient expectations re provider contact create a ‘perfect storm’ for the development of telehealth.  His personal experience of sending images of his hand with a second degree burn to a specialist in Cincinnati also has made him a believer that medical applications are ‘here and now.’  CMIO article.
