Mobile M2M for heart arrhythmia

aeractHopefully none of our readers will have extra or skipped heartbeats this holiday weekend (US, UK), but Oregon-based cardiac device developer TZ Medical and German M2M developer Cinterion (formerly Siemens Wireless Modules) have a mobile device for that. Just announced is their new compact wireless heart arrhythmia monitor which continuously records and transmits cardiac data for up to 28 days without any mandatory interaction by the user. It connects to the patient with as few as three electrodes, transmits data both automatically and manually, plus can communicate via speakerphone in the event of emergency. Projected in market for North America for Q3 2011, with subsequent worldwide rollout. MedGadget, release.
