In the news pre-holiday was the cease and desist action of the Maryland Attorney General’s office taken against locally based medical alert company, Medical Alert Buyers Alliance. An alert is only as good as its service in case of emergency–and when users pressed the button, no one answered because MABA stopped paying its emergency call center (American Two-Way) a year ago, according to the AG’s office.and the Better Business Bureau who gave the company a grade of F). In this case, the action also means that purchasers are supposed to receive refunds and the company can no longer sell in Maryland.
