Livestrong's diabetes diet analysis tool

Livestrong.com, the website started by Lance Armstrong, has introduced a diet management tool called MyPlate D.  This extension of the ‘Daily Plate’ weight loss application was developed for people who have type 2 diabetes.  It breaks foods down to their nutritional components–calories, carbohydrates, fats, proteins and sodium–and also lets users track insulin use and monitor glucose.  According to the article, the analysis will help users to recognize trends in diet that may lead to glucose spikes.  Kudos to Mr. Armstrong–and does this cry for a mobile application?  USA Today article
