Humana Cares, the St. Petersburg, Florida-based chronic care management division of Humana health plans, announced a pilot of Care Innovations’ Intel Health Guide to provide vital signs monitoring and nurse-to-patient video conferencing for congestive heart failure patients. It’s a projected ‘large N’ pilot, planned to roll out over 18 months to 2,000 Humana Cares members. There’s big potential: Humana Cares has 123,000 members both in commercial plans and Medicare Advantage, certainly a scale that interests the Intel-GE JV.
