Free EHR selection tool for long-term care providers (US)

Long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) providers have specialized needs in adopting EHRs, but often do not have the expertise to sort through systems on their own. The Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) of the LeadingAge non-profit LTC association has designed a free 11-question EHR Selection Tool which narrows EHR choices to those which meet the community’s baseline documentation and system integration needs. Specific providers are then recommended, with the option to take a deeper dive into detailed functionalities. The selection database matrix includes 22 full-featured EHRs with over 150 system functionalities. The CAST EHR Selection Tool will be formally presented at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) annual meeting today and tomorrow in Baltimore, Maryland.
