Auto-logging carers' visits

A HomeCareDirect has announced (31 May) its new service, currently covering part of the country. Not telecare as such but, we think, something that has to be considered in the care mix. It provides a ‘support box’, connected to the phone in the home of each client , which records the arrival and departure time of personal carers and automatically makes a telephone call should a personal carer be late or fail to arrive. Amongst its benefits are reassurance to family members who often live some distance away, that carers have arrived to provide care.
