Alcatel-Lucent TeleHealth Manager cleared for US marketing

As further confirmation that telecom companies see business opportunity calling (so to speak) in telehealth, Alcatel-Lucent today announced that its TeleHealth Manager remote monitoring platform has been cleared for marketing in the US by the FDA.  The US is key to their expansion but the release gives no hint as to any US partnerships. The TeleHealth Manager is currently marketed in Canada in a partnership with SaskTel as LifeStat.  I visited the Alcatel-Lucent/SaskTel display at the Connected Health Symposium in Boston two weeks ago, and found much of interest.
