US $6 billion broadband plan approved

The US Congress’s Energy and Commerce Committee approved a $6 billion broadband plan last week that will provide grants for companies to build out high-speed Internet networks. The plan is part of an $825 billion economic stimulus package unveiled last week by the House Appropriations Committee.
